All things ,bhakthi, bhav, intellect , contemplation, concentration are in the domain of active mind, 

tho differing in subtlety, 

---cannot reach the ultimate --the pure consciousness--the pure knowingness--the total knowledge------

as long as the mental activity persists.

and hence are not the effective techniques .

only by transcending the entire range of the mind --thru any process/ technique-----one can 

reach this state of pure consciousness, which reveals all knowledge in unified multiplicity
